The geographic location of a footgolf course has strong bearing on the financial sustainability of the facility. On the other hand, a beautifully designed course in a remote location offering decent means of transportation, will probably work well too. It all depends on the level of ambition and on what goals you try to achieve.

However, in order to maximize ad hoc playing and attract the most people, placing a course close to infrastructure and local residents is the preferred way to go.

The quality of a location is defined by:

  • Catchment area
  • Natural surroundings
  • Access to community services
  • Local expansion plans
  • Infrastructure and maintenance options
  • Access routes
